Well, its been about a week, and TUWS is up and running, and has gotten the attention of the internet public! Thanks for everyone who has checked out the site as of yet. For those who are unaware...www.theultimateworkstation.com Come see the new workstations/workspaces the community have submitted and are doing so as we speak. We have even had our first communication through the community which led to some items which a user wanted. The original publisher responded by tagging their items (with hyperlinks). It was a beautiful connection of person and item :)- (Look here) Remember to check back for new comments also! We are going to push on strong and aim to become the largest archive of workstations on the net! Help us achieve this goal!

Who is going to use this?

So as the site is almost complete, a lot of people are asking, "so why would I use this site?." The answer is, it all depends on what your looking for. The site's purpose is to let the internet world post their workstations to share with others. If they choose to (which we are hoping they do) they can tag items in their photo and add hyperlinks which will lead them (or closer atleast) to that item they tagged.

The staff @ TUWS have found themselves searching day and night for specific items they must have. This involved the usual google keyword search, and then navigating through websites which may or may not have what I am looking for. This is where our website is going to bridge that gap.

Less time searching, and more time being placed directly in front of what you want. Simple.

We are going to hold contests frequently and give away some really cool (and useful) prizes - which hopefully you will add to your workstation.

Should be a lot of fun, and hopefully we can help you find interesting items that you might want.

Getting Closer...

Development for the site is coming along nicely. Things are starting to gel very well, and we will be launching soon! We have gotten a lot of community support for trying to accomplish our niche community and help each other out. I feel very good about this and hope you all do as well. We at TUWS look forward to providing you with a quick, creative, and friendly user interface to accomplish our clear task. Share your desktop, participate, tag, and help each other find the items we crave! We'll until the next update, so long.

Launching early 2010

I would like to introduce you to, www.theultimateworkstation.com. A flagship site launching early 2010, open to the internet community. This niche site is focused on allowing users to upload their workstation/workspace onto the site, and tag items/elements within their photo. There will be space to insert a hyperlink within the tag. The secondary focus of the site, is to connect the users to the products they see and love, or at least as close as possible.

For example, a user who tags a apple imac computer, ideally would link the tag to the apple store. And if they want to take it a step further....link it directly to the page on the apple website where they can examine and buy the imac computer. This type linking can be very powerful to accomplish our task if users cooperate.

Visitors to the site DO NOT have to tag their photos. This is the goal of the site, but visitors of the site may just browse if they wish, and use the links that the participants provide to find the items they love.

So I would like to end this post with the introduction of the new site. This is for the online community who enjoy viewing other peoples desks, and computer set ups, etc. Just like open source software benefits from the communities help and participation, I hope that this site will benefit through the same methods.
